This chevron was initially run as a works car driven by a range of drivers including Derek Bennett himself (the Chevron founder), Chris Craft and John Hine.
Its first race was in 1971 and entered for the European 2 Litre Sports Car Championship.
The car was converted to Cosworth Vega engine and shipped to South Africa for the november/december 1971 Springbok series end entered by Team Gunston. Finished 1st à the Bulawayo 3 hours.
Bought by Stirling Moss in South Africa in 1981 - thinking it was a B16! Stirling Moss sold the car almost immediately to Tony Gordon and the pair raced together in the 1982 Air Hanson 90 minute historic sports car race at the Snetterton circuit in East Anglia. They won the race.
In 1987 the car was completely restored in the Chevron Workshop and sold to Belgian racing driver "Beurlys" (Jean Blaton).
