Launch in 1979 as a replacement of the JS7, the JS11 is a Cosworth-

powered ground effect car designed by Michel Beaujon and Gérard

Ducarouge. The chassis is stronger and stiffer than its predecessors to

withstand the high downloads achieved.

Drivers for the 1979 season are Jacques Laffite, Patrick Depailler and

Jacky Ickx.

 

For the 1980 season, a new car designed as JS11/15 is launch. It is built

around the 1979 monocoque and front suspensions with newly designed

rear suspensions and improved aerodynamic.

Drivers for the 1980 season are Jacques Laffite and Didier Pironi

(previously from Tyrrell).

In total 4 cars were built (JS11/01 to JS11/04) all were upgraded to JS11/15

for the 1980 season.
